The sixth-year guard is making immediate impact in her first season in Atlanta

INDIANAPOLIS – Allisha Gray’s elevated scoring nights may not always jump out at first. At least, they sometimes don’t to Atlanta Dream head coach Tanisha Wright.
“(Allisha) is somebody who at times, you don’t realize what she’s doing and then you look up and you’re like, ‘s***, Leesh just did what she did,’” Wright said after Sunday’s 100-94 victory over the Indiana Fever.
Gray had a team-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting on the afternoon, immediately following up her 27-point, 10-rebound performance in a winning effort versus Connecticut this past Thursday.
As a result, she’s been a main catalyst to Atlanta’s current three-game winning streak that includes a victory over the New York Liberty, as well as the aforementioned wins over the Sun and Fever.
“She’s somebody who just basically puts on her hard hat and goes to work and just does what she does,” Wright continued. “She did that all throughout training camp.
“There were times I was like, ‘Oh, this isn’t noticeable.’ But when you go back and you watch the tape, you see all the little plays Leesh was making.”
Factoring in Sunday’s outing, Gray is up to 18.7 points a game this season. She’s scored double digits in every contest this season.
By making the right reads with the ball in her hands, scoring the ball efficiently or anything it takes to help her team come out victorious, her game’s relatively quiet nature helps contribute to emphatic results like the one Sunday.
