The Atlanta Dream have welcomed Kelsey Bibik to the organization as its Public Relations Manager. Bibik comes to the Dream after serving as an SID for the Florida State athletic department and working with the volleyball and beach volleyball programs.
- What college did you attend and what did you study?
I went to Colorado State (go Rams) and studied Journalism and Technical Communications.
- What’s the last show you binge watched?
Seinfeld.
3. What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
I like to get outside with my dog whenever possible, and when I leave her at home I like finding new restaurants and coffee shops around town. I think Atlanta will keep me pretty busy in that department.
- What are you passionate about?
The deeper answer to this is that I’m passionate about women’s athletics and about increasing participation and support of girls in sports, it’s the reason I wanted to work with the Dream in the first place. The secondary answer to this is that I’m passionate about sailing, photography, traveling and learning about other people, cultures and backgrounds.
- What are you looking forward to the most in your first Dream season?
I’m looking forward to working with these athletes more than anything. The level of talent within the WNBA is unmatched and every player on this team has such a unique and interesting story, I’m excited to learn more about every one of these women as the season progresses.
- Did you play any sports growing up or in high school?
I did everything at least once, but mostly mostly volleyball and soccer. I also grew up thinking I could be a competitive snowboarder and I had a short-lived competitive baton twirling career.
- What’s your favorite food
In-N-Out burgers and animal fries. Not many of those in Atlanta, though.
- If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be and why?
Bell hooks, just to listen to her speak. I probably wouldn’t even pay attention to dinner.
- If you could visit anywhere in the world where would it be?
I’ve always wanted to see India or Southeast Asia.
- Who is your favorite artist? Music?
Currently: Local Natives. All-time: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. But I like everything from vocal jazz to pop punk.
- What is your Dream job?
Ship captain.
- What movie can you watch on repeat?
Pulp Fiction. I probably know the whole movie line-by-line.
