ATLANTA – The Atlanta Dream battled throughout the first three quarters of Tuesday night’s game, but it was not enough to hold off a late rally from Chicago as the Sky pulled out an 87-83 win at State Farm Arena.

Atlanta was led by Tiffany Hayes’ 27 points, who posted 20 or more points for the fifth time this season. Hayes scored 18 points in the second half, including a three-pointer with 26 seconds left in the game to bring Chicago’s lead to one point.

Chicago led by as many as nine points in the first quarter, but Tiffany Hayes’s six points in the final three minutes helped the Dream go on an 8-0 run to close the Sky’s lead to just one point. A huge second quarter surge helped Atlanta pull into as much as an eight point lead by halftime, outshooting the Sky and going 6-of-6 from the foul line in the first half.

After Atlanta led through the first 30 minutes of the game, a late rally from Chicago helped the Sky tie up the game and change leads with the Dream three times throughout the fourth quarter. Chicago’s go-ahead point came from a free throw from Cheyenne Parker with four minutes left in the game.

Atlanta heads to New York and Dallas this weekend, and will return home to State Farm Arena Thursday, August 29 to host the Phoenix Mercury at 7:00 p.m. Group and single game tickets are available now. For more information, visit atlantadream.net or call 877.977.7729.
