Damiris Dantas Re-Signs with Atlanta Dream

Dantas returning to Atlanta for 2018 season

ATLANTA –  The Atlanta Dream have entered in to a new contract with forward Damiris Dantas, the team announced Wednesday.

“I am thrilled to announce the signing of Damiris Dantas,” head coach Nicki Collen said. “DD has the size, skill, and strength to score in a variety of ways for us.  She can knock down the three, attack the basket off the dribble or score on the low block.

“I am excited to see how her game grows as she enters her fourth WNBA season.”

Dantas, who is entering her fourth season in the WNBA, averaged 7.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 34 games for the Dream in 2017. She finished the year with the third-most three-point fields goals made on the team with 26. This offseason, Dantas has been playing with the KB Stars in South Korea, averaging 20.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

A member of the Brazilian National Team, Dantas returned to the Dream in 2017 after sitting out the entire 2016 WNBA season. She was acquired in a midseason trade with the Minnesota Lynx in July 2015.
