Atlanta Dream Sign Markeisha Gatling and Whitney Knight to Training Camp Contracts

ATLANTA (February 9, 2017) – The Atlanta Dream have signed center Markeisha Gatling and guard Whitney Knight to training camp contracts, the team announced Thursday.

Gatling returns to the Dream after signing with the team midway through the 2016 WNBA season. Gatling, who was selected 10th overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft, averaged 2.6 points in 10.5 minutes of play in 16 games for Atlanta.

Knight, a WNBA rookie in 2016, played for both the Los Angeles Sparks and the San Antonio Stars. The 6-3 guard, who was a two-time Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year at Florida Gulf Coast University, appeared in just 10 games averaging 0.6 points.

The Atlanta Dream, who is celebrating its 10th season in the WNBA in 2017, will play its home games in McCamish Pavilion on the Georgia Tech campus. Atlanta has qualified for the playoffs seven times, winning conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
