Atlanta Dream Sign Cheyenne Parker to Contract Extension

ATLANTA, Ga. (March 9, 2023) – The Atlanta Dream have extended the contract of forward Cheyenne Parker, the organization announced today.

“To continue to have Cheyenne in a Dream uniform thrills me,” said Head Coach Tanisha Wright. “CP has a tremendous hunger to be the best she can be, not only for herself but also for her teammates. She is no stranger to the work and the grind that it takes to play at a high level, and she showed so much desire to keep growing in our first season together. I am excited to see the strides she takes to continue to grow her game.”

In her last two seasons with the Dream Parker has averaged 11.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. After missing the last half of the 2021 season to give birth to her daughter Naomi, Parker returned to the court to play in all 36 of Atlanta’s games in 2022, tallying career-best records with 176 baskets, 163 defensive rebounds, 222 total rebounds, 71 assists and 37 steals.

“I’m so excited about this extension, we’re building something special here in Atlanta I’m so honored to be a part of that,” Parker said. “Tanisha and the coaching staff are going to continue to push me, and because of that they will get the best out of me night in and night out. I have a lot of respect for this staff, so it’s easy to compete hard for them. We’re going to have a lot of fun, that’s all I know.”

Parker finished the 2022 season with a career-record five double-doubles and three 20-point scoring outings.

“Last season Cheyenne showed her teammates and our staff how much pride she has in her game and playing for our team,” said General Manager Dan Padover. “Cheyenne takes the court every night with an intensity and a level of effort that is contagious, and we are delighted she will continue to bring that to the Dream. She has proven to be one of the best post players in the WNBA and what’s most exciting to us is that even eight years into her career, we believe she still hasn’t reached her full potential yet.”
