Atlanta Dream Sign Sarah Imovbioh to Training Camp Contract

ATLANTA (April 12, 2017) – The Atlanta Dream have signed forward Sarah Imovbioh to a training camp contract, the team announced Tuesday.

The 6-2 forward played for C.R.E.F. Hola Madrid during the 2016-17 season. She registered 10.0 point and 9.6 rebounds in 26 games for Spanish-league squad. As member of the 2015-16 South Carolina team that reached the Sweet Sixteen, Imovbioh played in every game, averaging 4.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

Prior to joining the Gamecocks, the Nigerian-born Imovbioh played at Virginia (2013-15), where she earned her bachelor’s degree in three years. She ranked among the ACC’s top 15 in rebounding and top 10 in field-goal percentage each season.

The 2017 WNBA Draft presented by State Farm will be held on Thursday, April 13 at Samsung 837 in New York.  ESPN2 will provide coverage and analysis of the first round beginning at 7 p.m. ET, and ESPNU will air coverage of the second and third rounds starting at 8 p.m. ET. The Atlanta Dream hold three picks in the upcoming draft, including the No. 7 overall pick.

Atlanta Dream training camp opens April 23 at the Riverside EpiCenter.

The Atlanta Dream, who is celebrating its 10th season in the WNBA in 2017, will play its home games in McCamish Pavilion on the Georgia Tech campus. Atlanta has qualified for the playoffs seven times, winning conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
