Williams Scores 14 as Dream Fall to Mystics
WASHINGTON – Elizabeth Williams paced the Dream with 14 points and Nia Coffey came off the bench to score a season-high 13 points, but it was not enough to hold off the Mystics as they pulled out a 93-65 win over Atlanta.
The Dream (5-14) dropped the third meeting of the season against Washington Sunday, giving the Mystics (11-6) their fourth straight win in the series.
Nia Coffey earned nine of her 13 points in the second quarter, going 2-2 from beyond the arc while Brittney Sykes scored nine of her 11 points in the third quarter alone.
The opening quarter stayed close as the game saw 5 ties in the first seven minutes. A go-ahead three-pointer from Elena Delle Donne put the Mystics in the lead as Washington went on to outscore Atlanta 24-15 in the first quarter. While the Dream scored their most points of the game in the third quarter, the Mystics did, too. Washington shot a game-high 55.6 percent from the field on top of 10 total rebounds stay ahead of the Dream.
Atlanta returns to State Farm Arena Tuesday to host the Sparks at 7:30 p.m. in the Dream’s final game before the All-Star break. Group, mini-packs and single game tickets are available now. For more information, visit atlantadream.net or call 877.977.7729.
