Dream partners with Riverside EpiCenter

ATLANTA (May 18, 2016) – The Atlanta Dream has announced that it was partnered with the Riverside EpiCenter to make the state-of-art athletic facility the official practice and training camp home of the franchise.

The Riverside EpiCenter, located in Austell, Ga., provides guests a collage of events, entertainment and wellness activities.  Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities under one roof ranging from attending a concert or play, working out in world-class facilities, play basketball in the gymnasium, enjoy arcade games, rock climbing, hold a video conference, utilize the recording studio or attend/host a gala in the Grand Ballroom.

“RiverSide EpiCenter is overjoyed to be the official practice facility of the Atlanta Dream,” Riverside General Manager Stephen Sullivan said.  “It allows our community, children and guests the opportunity to see, dream and be a part of this amazing team.”

The EpiCenter boasts 113,000 sq. ft. and was constructed using recycled materials, in order to reduce the use of water through the utilization of water efficient fixtures, deliver 30 percent more fresh air to indoor spaces than required by code and use efficient indoor and outdoor lighting to reduce energy consumption.

“We are thrilled to have exclusive use of the Riverside EpiCenter as our practice facility,” Atlanta head coach Michael Cooper said.  “This is a state-of-the-art facility that provides all the elements we require to train at the highest level.  We feel privileged to be in this special partnership with a facility that is first class all the way.”

Riverside EpiFitness Club features over 25,000 square feet in its state-of-the-art fitness center, including cardio machines, free weights, circuit training machines, two group fitness studios and a training area.  The EPIC facility also offers a collegiate size sports hall, suspended indoor track, saunas and hot tubs in each locker room and a variety of fitness and wellness classes.

The Theatre and Conference Center can accommodate theater-style seating for up to 600 individuals as well as banquet-style seating for up to 300 guests. Integrated high-speed Wi-Fi and streaming video technology demonstrate the Event Center’s strategic thinking toward collaboration with business and individual needs.

The Entertainment Center can accommodate groups of all sizes and age ranges. It offers a variety of customizable spaces which can be utilized for interactive training seminars, corporate functions, birthday parties, family reunions and family fun night.  Activities offered include bowling, rock climbing, an arcade and a “Chillzone”.

The three-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is entering its ninth season in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

The Dream plays their home games at Philips Arena.  Atlanta has qualified for the playoffs six times, winning conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
