Dream Look to Extend Streak to Six Games Against New York Liberty Thursday
Atlanta will try and tie franchise record for wins in a row Thursday
ATLANTA – After claiming its fifth straight victory on a heroic last-second three-point heave from Tiffany Hayes last night, the Atlanta Dream will return home to host the New York Liberty Thursday inside McCamish Pavilion beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live on WatchESPN.
Atlanta (13-9) pulled off the dramatic win at Connecticut Tuesday night. Angel McCoughtry, who was named an All-Star earlier in the day, scored 24 points and Hayes added 18 points, including her game-winning bucket. The half-court shot was the longest (46.7 FT) game-winner made in the last 10 seconds of a regular-season game in WNBA history.
The Dream will be going for its sixth straight win, which will tie a franchise record last accomplished in 2014.
New York (7-15), who are led by All-Star Tina Charles, enter Thursday’s contest winners of two of their last three games. Atlanta fell to New York back in June in the two teams only meeting without Hayes or Brittney Sykes. McCoughtry scored a career-high 39 points in the earlier game.
