A dominant second half led the Atlanta Dream to a 106-81 victory over the Chicago Sky on Saturday in State Farm Arena, the final home game of the host’s regular season.

The Dream (28-14) took ownership of fourth place in the East in an extremely narrow playoff race. While Atlanta’s playoff spot is secured, it is within one-half game of third place and is one-half game ahead of fifth, making the final two games of the season crucial to maintain home-court advantage in the playoffs.

“We have to pick up some wins,” Atlanta Head Coach Karl Smesko said.

The Dream will take on the New York Liberty back-to-back in Brooklyn on Monday and Wednesday to close out regular season play.

Angel Reese led all scorers with 23 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks to notch her 31st double-double this season. She became the only player in WNBA history to record 500 rebounds in a single season.

Isobel Borlase scored a career-high 18 points. Allisha Gray added 17 points, Rhyne Howard 14, and Jordin Canada had a game-high 10 assists to go along with 11 points. The team had 13 steals, led by Borlase and Gray, who each had three, and set the league record for steals in a season (347).

Atlanta came out to open the second half with ice in its veins, scoring 32 points to take an 83-66 lead into the fourth quarter. Gray led the team with 10 points in the quarter.

“We just came out with a different energy,” Gray said. “We knew we had to punch first.”

Borlase carried the momentum in the final quarter, with back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers. Atlanta’s suffocating defense ended any chance of a Chicago comeback, and the Dream took the 25-point victory.
