Angel Reese was one of the Atlanta Dream players to set records, as the team completed a season sweep of Toronto with a 107-95 victory on Monday at Gateway Center Arena.

Reese notched her 22nd game this season with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds, finishing with 20 and 14. Reese needs seven more double-doubles to set the WNBA single-season record (28) posted by Alyssa Thomas in 2023. Reese has 12 regular-season games remaining, starting Thursday at Connecticut.

“Hopefully this builds into another good performance a couple of days from now,” Dream Head Coach Karl Smesko said.

Reese was joined on Monday’s highlight reel by Jordin Canada, who scored 20 and reached 2,500 career points, and Naz Hillmon, who notched her 100th career steal to go with 11 points. Rhyne Howard scored a team-high 22 points and reached 100 made 3-pointers in a season faster than anyone in WNBA history, needing just 31 games. She needed five and hit six. Allisha Gray, who was honored with a giveaway of her signature goggles before the game, added 15.

“I'm loved here in Atlanta,” Gray said. “Atlanta has made me feel so well about myself. This is a place I definitely want to retire and finish my career playing on the Dream.”

Bri Jones came off the bench to score 15, giving Atlanta six players with at least 11 points.

“I think my teammates, they have my back,” Jones said. “They know what I'm capable of, but it feels good today to be able to get out there and contribute a little bit more.”

After struggling with its shooting in Friday’s loss at Washington, Atlanta found its touch against Toronto. The Dream shot 51.4%, including 43.8% of its 3-pointers.

“We took good shots, we took the shots we wanted,” said Smesko, wearing a black T-shirt with Gray’s image on the front, and a pair of the goggles on top of his head.

The Dream held a 24-22 lead at the end of the first quarter. Gray led with eight points. Atlanta shot 44.4%, including 36.4% of its 3-pointers.

Atlanta pushed its lead to 54-39 at halftime by hitting 57.1% of its shots in the second quarter. Reese led the Dream with eight points and five rebounds.

The Dream jumped on Toronto in the second half, increasing its lead to 20 on a 3-pointer by Reese, and two free throws and a 3 by Canada a minute into the third quarter. Hillmon followed with a 3 and Reese a layup to increase the lead to 25.

Reese’s historic rebound, which set the single-season record, came with 4:01 remaining in the third quarter. She already had 17 points. It was her seventh defensive rebound to go with three on offense. Reese broke the record set by Tina Charles in 2024.

Canada’s 2,500th point came on a free throw with 2:54 remaining in the third quarter.

Howard’s fifth 3-pointer, the record-setter, came with 4:17 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Toronto didn’t get closer to the Dream than eight points for the rest of the game.

“Rhy hit some big 3s in the fourth to separate things and we were able to close it out,” Smesko said.
