Atlanta Dream Reacquire Henry-Morello in Trade with Connecticut

Dream trade forward Reshanda Gray to the Sun

ATLANTA (January 26, 2017) – The Atlanta Dream have traded forward Reshanda Gray to the Connecticut Sun for center Aneika Henry-Morello, the team announced Wednesday.

Henry-Morello returns to the organization where she began her WNBA career prior to the 2012 season. During her time in Atlanta, the 6-4 center averaged 4.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 131 games. The University of Florida standout started 30 games for the Dream over her four seasons.

“Having Anieka back on the team gives us another big that can shore up our front line and will help Elizabeth Williams in the low-post,” head coach Michael Cooper said. “Anieka has always shown that she is a tough defensive center and she will pay big dividends for us this year as we set out to win a championship.”

Gray, a 6-2 forward, played one and a half seasons with the Dream after coming over in a midseason trade from Minnesota in 2015. She played 45 games and started six for Atlanta, while averaged 4.4 points and 2.6 rebounds a contest.

The team also announced they have waived guard Carla Cortijo, who joined the Dream during the 2015 WNBA season.

The Dream opens the season at home on Sunday, May 21 against the visiting Chicago Sky. Season and group tickets are available now. For more information, visit atlantadream.net or call 877.977.7729.

The Atlanta Dream will play its home games in McCamish Pavilion on the Georgia Tech campus in 2017. Atlanta has qualified for the playoffs seven times, winning conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
