—McCoughtry leads Turkish League with 25.0 ppg scoring average–

ATLANTA (Feb. 16, 2016) — The Atlanta Dream’s Angel McCoughtry has been honored as the EuroBasket.com Player of the Week, for the period ending Feb. 15.

McCoughtry currently leads the Turkish Basketball Federation with a league-best 25.0 ppg scoring average.  She also has notched a .533 field goal percentage through 19 games and swiped 2.6 steals per contest.

Currently playing for Mersin, McCoughtry led her squad to an 83-72 victory over Canik Bld last week by logging a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting an eye-popping .786 from the field.  Mersin currently resides in third place in the Turkish League standings with a 14-5 overall record.

In addition, newly acquired post player Elizabeth Williams was listed among the other finalists for the weekly honor after registering 13 points and 10 rebounds for Istanbul University.

The EuroBasket.com Player of the Week is selected based on efficiency calculation, game results, importance of the game and bonus points are offered for double-doubles and triple-doubles.
