Special Pregame Panel honoring Summitt “Living a Life to Leave a Legacy”
ATLANTA, August 31, 2016 – The Atlanta Dream will honor former University of Tennessee head coach Pat Summitt and celebrate “Pride Night” on Sunday, September 4 when it hosts the Seattle Storm at Philips Arena in a 6 p.m. ET tip that will be televised live on Fox Sports Southeast.
A special pregame panel featuring former Tennessee women’s basketball standouts Michelle Brooke-Marciniak and Chamique Holdsclaw, as well as Atlanta Dream and ESPN color analyst LaChina Robinson, will discuss the legacy of the legendary head coach in a forum titled “Living Life to Leave a Legacy.” Following the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions from the panelists.
Fans with tickets to Sunday’s showdown with the Seattle Storm can gain admittance to the pregame discussion by making a donation to “The Pat Summitt Foundation” at www.PatSummitt.org.

Prior to the start of Sunday’s game vs. Seattle, beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET, fans can attend a screening of the documentary “The Same Difference.” The award-winning documentary “The Same Difference” is a film about lesbians who discriminate against other lesbians based on gender roles. According to NBC News, “It is an unflinching view of lesbianism, with its beautiful and provocative nuance taking center stage.”
Preceding “The Same Difference” screening, there will be celebrity guest speakers on behalf of the launch of the “We’re All Women” campaign. The goal of the movement is to amplify the voices of the lesbian community to help usher change in legislation and create a conversation in media before November’s presidential election.
The Dream, which currently sit in the No. 4 slot in the WNBA standings with a 14-13 overall record, will be continuing a three-game homestand when they battle the Storm on Sunday at 6 p.m. Seattle features a pair of players who captured gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro this summer in Sue Bird and 2016 WNBA No. 1 draft pick Brianna Stewart.
