ATLANTA, September 18, 2016 – The Atlanta Dream will host the Seattle Storm to open play in the first round of the 2016 WNBA Playoffs at McCamish Pavilion on the campus of Georgia Tech on Wednesday, September 21.
Tip Time is 8 p.m. ET.
Atlanta (17-17) enters the 2016 WNBA Playoffs as the No. 6 seed. Seattle (16-18) is tabbed as the No. 7 seed.
This marks the Dream’s seventh playoff appearance overall. Atlanta has advanced to the WNBA Finals on three occasions (2010, 2011, 2013).
The No. 5 seeded Indiana Fever (17-17) will face No. 8 seed Phoenix Mercury (16-18) in the other first-round playoff game on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Both of Wednesday’s 2016 WNBA Playoffs first-round games will be televised live to a national audience on ESPN News.

2016 SERIES HISTORY VS. SEATTLE
The Dream and Storm faced off a total of three times during the 2016 WNBA regular season.
Atlanta posted a win at home vs. the Storm, but dropped a second matchup at home and also was defeated in the lone meeting in Seattle.

WHAT’S AT STAKE
The winner of Wednesday’s first-round game will travel to face either the No. 3 seed New York Liberty or No. 4 seed Chicago Sky in a single-elimination second-round contest.
New York will host its second-round game on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Madison Square Garden (7 p.m. ET). The other second-round matchup will take place at AllState Arena in Chicago on Sunday, Sept. 25 (1 p.m. ET).
Second-round opponents will be determined by the seeds of the opening round winners. New York is guaranteed to face the lowest remaining seed among the two winners of Wednesday’s first-round playoffs contests.
Second-round winners will advance to a best-of-five WNBA Semifinal Playoff series against either the No. 1 seed Minnesota Lynx or No. 2 seed Los Angeles Sparks (Sept. 28-Oct. 6).
