Atlanta Dream vs. Dallas Wings – Friday, May 24 – 7:30 p.m. – Season Opener
Giveaway: 2019 Atlanta Dream Magnet Schedule
- The Atlanta Dream will host the Dallas Wings in its home opener for the second straight season. Last year, the Dream dropped a 78-70 decision to the Wings at home to fall to 1-2 to open the season. Atlanta is 14-7 all-time against the Wings franchise and 8-3 overall in Atlanta.
- The 2019 Dallas Wings can look decidedly different this season after the hiring of former Los Angeles Spark head coach Brian Agler to the same position and with the uncertainty surrounding All-Stars Skylar Diggins-Smith (pregnant) and Liz Cambage (future uncertain). The team, which entered the 2018 WNBA Playoffs as the eighth seed, is still incredibly talented with some of the most exciting young stars in the game.
- Atlanta will be playing its first game at the newly renovated State Farm Arena. Formerly Philips Arena, the facility was home to the Dream from 2008-2016 and hosted the franchise’s three WNBA Finals appearances. Expect and electric atmosphere with a lot of new elements, including the unveiling of the team’s brand new mascot.
