Former Hawks, Thrashers Executive Jim Pfeifer Joins Atlanta Dream Front Office

Jim Pfeifer has been named Vice President of Corporate Partnerships

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Dream has hired veteran Atlanta sports executive Jim Pfeifer as its Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, team President and General Manager Chris Sienko announced Thursday.

“We are excited to welcome someone with Jim’s extensive experience in the Atlanta market to the Dream,” Sienko said. “He will be tasked with increasing revenue through corporate partnerships and helping grow the Dream brand in and around the city of Atlanta.”

Serving in numerous professional sports capacities in Atlanta since 1998, Pfeifer comes to the Dream after spending the past two years as President of the Atlanta Blaze Major League Lacrosse team.

“I’m thrilled to join the Atlanta Dream, and becoming part of the exciting culture that Chris, Coach Nicki (Collen) and the organization are building,” Pfeifer said.

From 2005 to 2016, Pfeifer worked in the Atlanta Hawks’ front office, originally as vice president of marketing, advertising and branding and then vice president of partner integration in 2011, where he worked closely with team corporate and broadcast partners. Prior to the Hawks, the Atlanta Thrashers hired Pfeifer in 1998 as the director of marketing, where he was tasked with promoting an NHL expansion franchise.

Before making Atlanta, Pfeifer spent nine years in New York working at Madison Square Garden in the marking department promoting the New York Knicks and New York Rangers.

A graduate of the University of Richmond, Pfeifer lives in Johns Creek with his wife and two children.
