Atlanta Dream Quotes

Head Coach Nicki Collen

On the team’s play in its preseason opener…
“I am always going to be a defensive minded coach and I only want to give the other team one shot. I felt that if Dallas has one strength, it is its ability to come to the glass from four positions, which you saw early in the game. I think we did a better job of eliminating second chance points as the game went continued. We are long, we are active, 10 blocks, we are going to rotate, but I don’t like how many fouls we had in tonight’s game. Early in the third quarter we put them in the bonus so we have to play with our feet and not with our hands, but defensively we are always going to try to set the tone. I wanted Tiffany Hayes to introduce Arike (Ogunbowale) to the WNBA and establish our defense. I think in the second half we did a very good job of sharing the basketball. 24 assists on 34 baskets will always makes me happy. Also, the misses we had were on good shots that did not go in the hoop.”

#20 Alex Bentley, Guard

On the team’s play in its preseason opener…
“I am really proud of my teammates play tonight. We came out, played hard and shared the ball incredibly well. I like how we gel. ”

On the team’s focus for the rest of preseason…
“I did not like the execution of our help side defense. There were not aware when they needed to be, and it wasn’t working out. We will definitely focus on that and rebounding.”
