Dream Fall to Liberty in Final Game of 2019 Season

ATLANTA – Three players scored in double digits behind Alex Bentley’s 17 points as the Dream fell to the Liberty, 71-63, Sunday afternoon at State Farm Arena.

Angel McCoughtry made her first appearance in a Dream uniform this season, starting and participating in the opening tip before subbing out. The Liberty outscored the Dream in the first quarter to hold a four-point lead heading into the fourth. Two blocks from the Dream and 52.9 percent shooting helped keep Atlanta in the game after the second frame as they trailed by six heading into halftime.

The Liberty continued to outscore the Dream in the third to gain as much as a 15 point lead, but Bentley’s eight points in the fourth frame helped close the gap. New York walked away with a win to stay ahead of Atlanta in the final rankings.

The Atlanta Dream, who are celebrating their 12th season in the WNBA in 2019, played their home games in State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta. The Dream have qualified for the playoffs nine times, winning conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
