Dream Defeat Liberty, 92-87

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Nia Coffey scored 16 of her team-high 18 points in the second half to lead the Atlanta Dream (2-0) to a 92-87 win over the New York Liberty (1-2) in the second game of a preseason tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Tiffany Hayes chipped in 16 points off the bench, while Brittney Sykes added 10 points for Atlanta. Lynetta Kizer also topped double-figures for the Dream with all 13 of her points coming in the second half.

The Dream, who trailed by as much as 15 points during the game, fought back to take a lead in the fourth quarter. The lead changed nine times throughout the game.

Cold shooting in the first half saw the Dream trailing the Liberty 41-34 after the first 20 minutes.

Atlanta defeated the Dallas Wings Monday evening, 82-59, in the first game of the Connecticut Sun’s Preseason Tournament.

 

The Dream close out the preseason with a game against the Washington Mystics Friday evening beginning at 7 p.m. inside Albany Civic Center in Albany, Ga.
