Bentley Nets Season-High Points but Dream Fall to Sky, 87-75

ATLANTA – Alex Bentley scored a season-high 21 points but it was not enough for the Atlanta Dream to hold off the Chicago Sky in an 87-75 loss Saturday night.

The Dream (5-17), who wore pink uniforms on their annual Dream Pink game, overpowered the Sky in the first half, overcoming a 4-0 start from Chicago to lead until the final minutes of the second quarter. Tiffany Hayes, who notched nine points in the first half, left the game at the end of the second quarter after a hit to the face, leaving room for Bentley to take over as the team’s leading scorer after ending the first half with 13 of her 21 total points.

The Sky took command in the second half, pulling ahead to lead by as much as 16 points and eventually holding on for their second win over Atlanta this season.

Jessica Breland scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Atlanta. Rookie Maite Cazorla, who saw extended minutes due to Hayes’ injury, finished with eight points and two assists in 24 minutes.

Atlanta returns home this Tuesday to host the Minnesota Lynx at 7:00 p.m. Fans can stream the game on Twitter.

Note on Tiffany Hayes: Hayes was ruled out of the game after a hit to the face in the second quarter. She will be evaluated further after the game.
