Atlanta Dream Commit $3,000 to Hurricane Harvey Hoops Challenge

Dream will send donation to DonorsChoose.org

PHOENIX (September 3, 2017) – Atlanta Dream players, staff and team owners, Mary Brock and Kelly Loeffler, have committed $3,000 to Hurricane Harvey Hoops Challenge. The team has earmarked this money to go to DonorsChoose.org, an organization that will help teachers and students in the areas affected by the storm rebuild their classrooms.

“As players, we want to make sure we could make an impact and give to those have lost so much due to Hurricane Harvey,” Dream center and team player rep Elizabeth Williams said. “We felt that giving back to classrooms and teachers is important, and often overlooked in these situations. Although the hurricane is over, the rebuilding process will be a long journey.”

The #HarveyHoopsChallenge, an initiative started by Chiney Oguwmike and Connecticut Sun, will help a number of community organizations to provide necessary and immediate relief and support to those affected by flooding in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
