Sancho Lyttle’s Status is Upgraded

Secondary Examination reveals no fracture in foot

ATLANTA (July 21, 2016) – After further evaluation, Atlanta Dream forward Sancho Lyttle has suffered a bruise and not a fracture in her fifth metatarsal bone in her right foot.

The initial images appeared to show a fracture, but following further review and physical examination, the foot was ruled to not have been fractured.  Lyttle has been diagnosed with a partially torn peroneus longs tendon.  She will not require surgery.

Lyttle is expected to need four to five weeks for recovery and rehabilitation and is expected to be back in time for the resumption of the 2016 WNBA schedule on Friday, August 26 when the Dream travel to face the Chicago Sky.

Lyttle has appeared in 17 games, all as a starter and averaged 7.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.2 steals per contest.

She currently ranks as the WNBA’s leader in steals (2.2) and sits fifth in rebounding among league leaders (8.5).
