Fan Support Key To July Home Success

By Katie Morrison

The Atlanta Dream needs the support of Atlanta sports fans throughout the month of July to help them make a solid playoff run. This month will make or break the Dream’s playoff chances with 10 games remaining over the next three and a half weeks, seven of which will be played at home inside McCamish Pavilion.

Five of those games will be against three different teams – the Seattle Storm, Phoenix Mercury, and Washington Mystics – all with winning records that are also ahead of the Dream in playoff standings. If Atlanta hopes to make the playoffs, the month of July will be paramount.

Currently, the Dream are third in the Eastern Conference and eighth overall, sitting in the final playoff spot. This month’s schedule is in the Dream’s favor, with seven out of 10 games being at home. Though Atlanta has the home court advantage, the difficulty of the schedule makes it imperative that fans come out and support the Dream.

The July stretch of games begins this Friday, July 6, at McCamish Pavilion at 7 PM ET against Seattle. The Dream will not have played since winning Sunday at Indiana, while the Storm will have played at New York on Tuesday evening. The extra rest should benefit the Dream, but ultimately fan support could make the biggest difference for Atlanta. The Dream defeated the top-seeded Storm 67-64 in Seattle on June 10.

During the month of July, fans can also look forward to special promotions, including Sneakerhead Night on July 13 (vs. Indiana Fever, 7 PM ET), College Day on July 15 (vs. Washington Mystics, 3 PM ET), and a Back To School Bash on July 22 (vs. Seattle Storm, 3 PM ET). Don’t miss these exciting opportunities to support your Atlanta Dream!
