ATLANTA, July 21, 2015 – The Atlanta Dream and Grady Health System have once again joined forces against Breast Cancer with the annual “Dream Pink” auction as part of a three-year partnership between the organizations.
Fans can now bid on exclusive one-on-one experiences with WNBA players, tickets to some of the hottest shows in Atlanta and other assorted sports memorabilia. In addition, several items from Atlanta-area hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues are up for bid with new items being added daily. The auction will end at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, August 14.
To participate in this special event, fans can log on to http://dreampink15.auction-bid.org/register-only.php and place bids via text, smartphone or by concierge with iPad at the “Dream Pink” game on Sunday, August 2 at 3 p.m. ET, when the Atlanta Dream take on the Phoenix Mercury.
“Grady is proud to partner with the Atlanta Dream in the fight against breast cancer,” Lindsay Caulfield, Grady’s Senior Vice President of Public Affairs said. “As one of Atlanta’s leading providers of cancer treatment, Grady knows first-hand the toll the disease can take on patients and their families. The Dream Pink game and auction play an important role in our collective efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer and work towards finding a cure.”
In addition to the online auction, the Atlanta Dream and Grady Health System will host a live auction on Sunday, August 2 at the conclusion of the Dream vs. Mercury game at Philips Arena. The live auction event will include appearances by Dream players and will feature the players’ authentic game-worn pink jerseys, unique fan experiences with Dream players and more. All proceeds from both the live and online auctions will be donated to Grady’s Avon Foundation Breast Health Center in support of raising awareness in the fight against Breast Cancer.
“The Atlanta Dream organization is proud to team up with Grady as part of the WNBA’s Breast Health Awareness platform focused on raising funds and awareness to help women everywhere fight and survive this disease,” Angela Taylor, Atlanta Dream President/General Manager said. “Through our Dream Pink initiative, we urge our fans around the globe to participate in the Dream Pink auctions and Dream Dollar campaign. By doing so, you will play a tremendous role in helping the amazing researchers and doctors at Grady continue their work to eradicate this horrendous disease while supporting and treating those affected by it. The money we raise together will have a huge impact in saving lives and ensuring that the list of breast cancer survivors continues to grow.”
Fans will also be able to contribute to this fundraiser by donating a dollar to the cause through the team’s #DreamDollar social media campaign. Beginning today, fans can donate a minimum of one dollar by text message or through the auction website. The #DreamDollar campaign also runs through 5 p.m. ET on Aug. 14.
At the “Dream Pink” game, the first 2,000 fans through the Philips Arena doors will receive a “Dream Pink” t-shirt courtesy of Grady, and all fans are encouraged to wear pink as part of a “pink out”. The “Dream Pink” game will also feature breast cancer survivors who will be honored throughout the game, and will participate as “Anthem Buddies” on the court for the national anthem prior to the game.
We thank everyone in advance for your support – and remember to “Dream Pink”. Together we can defeat Breast Cancer!
