Atlanta look to sweep season series against Washington

ATLANTA –The Atlanta Dream will go for its ninth straight win Tuesday evening when it returns home from the All-Star break to face the visiting Washington Mystics beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live on Twitter.

ATLANTA DREAM GAME NOTES

Before the break, Atlanta (16-9) knocked off the Los Angeles Sparks, 81-71, on the road last Tuesday, July 24. Angel McCoughtry led the Dream to the win at the Staples Center with 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals. The team’s seven road wins are the most by a Dream team since the 2012 season when the team won eight games.

Washington (14-11) returns to action after falling to the Connecticut Sun, 94-68, Tuesday, July 24. Elena Delle Donne led the Mystics in scoring with 21 points.

The two teams will meet for the third and final time this season Tuesday. The Dream lead the series 2-0, winning most recently, 80-77, on July 15 in Atlanta.

Over the weekend, Angel McCoughtry played in her fifth WNBA All-Star game on Team Parker. McCoughtry added 10 points, 5 rebounds, and four assists to the team’s 119 points over Team Delle Donne’s 112. Renee Montgomery competed in the 3-point contest and scored 18 points, good for fifth place.
