Atlanta Dream to Host Inspiring Women E.N.E.R.G.Y. Seminar Series: Women in Technology on August 29

ATLANTA, August 20, 2015 – The Atlanta Dream will host the latest of its Inspiring Women E.N.E.R.G.Y. Seminar Series, presented by The Coca-Cola Company, entitled “Women in Technology” on Saturday, August 29 beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET at Philips Arena prior to the Dream’s game against the Chicago Sky, which tips off at 7 p.m.

The Inspiring Women E.N.E.R.G.Y. Seminar Series focuses on personal and professional development for women, targeting college level, young professionals and executive level women. The series is also sponsored by the Marriott Atlanta Marquis, Cooper Global, SpeedPro Imaging and Georgia Lottery.

The E.N.E.R.G.Y. Seminar Series is a central component of the Dream’s Inspiring Women platform, which supports the team’s objective to empower women. The platform is built on six key components:

  • Empowering – Identifying topics that resonate with women in Corporate America such as career mapping and providing platforms to gain more knowledge on same
  • Networking – Providing forums for women and men to connect with and learn from other like-minded colleagues
  • Engaging – Hosting events that allow our community to engage with one another and celebrate inspiring women as well as serve as a culmination of our recognition, networking and empowering activities
  • Recognizing – Identifying and showcasing women and girls who have positively impacted others through their deeds and accomplishments
  • Growing – Providing growth opportunities for all people who interact with the initiative whether it be on a personal or professional level
  • Year-Round – Emphasizing visibility and action 365 days a year

The “Women in Technology” Inspiring Women E.N.E.R.G.Y. seminar will feature keynote speaker, Shan Cooper, VP and General Manager with Lockheed Martin, in addition to a panel discussion with all participants.

Scheduled panelists include Center for Sustainable Communities Managing Director, Garry Harris, Founder and CEO of BRRR! Clothing Company, Mary-Cathryn Kolb and BRRR! Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Tosha Hayes.

The event will get underway in Philips Arena’s Center Club at 5:30 p.m. with event registration as well as a networking period for all attendees prior to the start of programming at 5:45 p.m.

he three-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is in its eighth season in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
