DREAM KICKS OFF FIRST WEEK OF TRAINING CAMP

ATLANTA, May 17, 2009 � The Dream will open training camp on May 17, with 14 players set to compete for 11 final roster spots.

The team�s first practice is scheduled for May 17 from 6-9 pm at Suwanee Sports Academy. Practices are closed to the public and open to the media for the last hour each day. Coaches will have their first chance to evaluate a revamped roster during Sunday�s practice.

Media Day for the Dream will be held on Monday, May 18 at Suwanee Sports Academy. Practice is scheduled from 10 am � 1 pm and is open to the media at noon. Lunch will be provided after practice, followed by interview and photo opportunities with Dream players and coaches.

The Dream returns five players from last year�s expansion squad�guards Iziane Castro Marques, Ivory Latta and Tamera Young, and forwards Erika De Souza and Jennifer Lacy. Making their debut for the Dream are some notable offseason acquisitions including, six-time WNBA All-Star Chamique Holdsclaw, number one draft pick Angel McCoughtry, Michelle Snow (free agent) and Sancho Lyttle (dispersal draft). Center Chantelle Anderson and point guard Nikki Teasley will also suit up after missing last season.

The Dream will tip off its second season on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 7 p.m. against the Indiana Fever at Philips Arena.
