Sancho Lyttle Undergoes Successful Surgery

ATLANTA, July 15, 2013 �Atlanta Dream forward Sancho Lyttle underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured left foot on Monday, the team has announced. Lyttle, who injured the foot during Atlanta�s July 9 game at Minnesota, is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Lyttle was injured during her first game back with the Dream after missing six games while leading Spain to the gold medal at EuroBasket Women 2013, earning the tournament MVP award. In six games with Atlanta this season, Lyttle has averaged 14.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 steals while shooting 52.9 percent from the floor.

Lyttle, a 2009 WNBA All-Star, is in her fifth season with the Dream, which leads the Eastern Conference with a 10-3 record. She was a WNBA All-Defensive First Team selection last season and a Second Team honoree each of the three previous seasons. She set a franchise record with 84 steals in 2012, and is the team�s second-leading career scorer (1,637 points).

The two-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is in its sixth season at Philips Arena as part of the Women�s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
