The following is an update on how Atlanta Dream players fared in recent games with their overseas teams. You can find links to all of their teams web pages and get more detailed information by clicking here.
Erika de Souza Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife completed an undefeated season, finishing the regular season with a 6-0 record and going 4-0 in the playoffs. In the teams 10 games, de Souza averaged 15.1 points, which ranked third in the league, and league bests of 10.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
Tiffany Hayes Besiktas (Turkey): Hayes completed her commitment to Besiktas, which fell to 6-19 last week. Hayes averaged 8.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in eight games with the club. She previously played for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion of Israel, and averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.7 steals in 10 games with that club.
Aneika Henry Rivas Ecopolis (Spain): Rivas Ecopolis completed a two-game sweep over Cadi ICG in the semifinals of the Spanish League playoffs, and will face Perfumerias Avenida and LeCoe Willingham in the finals beginning April 24. Rivas Ecopolis clinched the series against Cadi ICG with an 88-72 win on April 17. In the victory, Henry had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and added two steals, two assists and a blocked shot. Henry has averaged 9.8 points and 7.7 boards in Spanish League games for Rivas Ecopolis, which went 19-1 during the regular season. She also finished EuroLeague competition averaging 11.4 points and 8.5 rebounds in 15 EuroLeague games.
Armintie Herrington Besiktas (Turkey): Herrington completed her commitment to Besiktas, which fell to 6-19 last week. In her 11 games with the club, Herrington averaged 9.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.6 steals.
Cathrine Kraayeveld Winnus (South Korea): Kraayeveld started the South Korean League season with Shinhan Bank,w hich finished the season 24-11 in a tie for first place. In her 15 games with the team, Kraayeveld averaged 14.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists. She then played 10 games for Winnus in the same league, averaging 11.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals for the team which finished 13-22 and in sixth place.
Yelena Leuchanka Liaoning (China): Leuchanka played in 18 games this season for Liaoning, which finished 14-8 and in third place in the Chinese League. In her 18 games with the club, Leuchanka averaged 17.7 points and 9.1 rebounds.
Sancho Lyttle Galatasaray (Turkey): No. 2 seed Galatasaray completed its quarterfinals series in the Turkish League playoffs last week, defeating Istanbul Universitesi three games to one, to advance to the finals to face top seed Fenerbahce and Angel McCoughtry. The finals begin on April 25. Entering the week with a 1-0 lead in the series, Galatasaray made it 2-0 with a 74-50 win on April 16, with Lyttle contributing four points, a game high 12 rebounds and five assists. Istanbul U. kept the series alive with a 75-57 victory on April 19 despite Lyttles four points, nine rebounds and three blocks, but Galatasaray ended the series by winning 72-52 on April 21, thanks in part to 15 points, nine boards and five assists from Lyttle. Lyttle is now averaging 11.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals in 31 Turkish League games during the regular and post seasons. Lyttle also finished the EuroLeague campaign averaging 11.5 points, 7.2 boards and 2.6 steals in 17 EuroLeague games, helping her team reach the Final Eight.
Angel McCoughtry Fenerbahce (Turkey): Top-seeded Fenerbahce completed a three-game sweep of its semifinal series in the Turkish League playoffs with two more wins against Kayseri last week. Fenerbahce will face No. 2 seed Galatasaray and Sancho Lyttle in the finals beginning April 25. During a 77-75 win on April 15 in Game 2, McCoughtry had 19 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. In a 71-61 win to end the series on April 18, McCoughtry had a game-high 30 points, six boards, three assists and a steal. In 26 Turkish League games during the regular and post seasons, McCoughtry has averaged a team-high 16.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.3 steals. She also finished the EuroLeague campaign averaging 15.3 points, 8.1 boards and 2.3 steals in 19 EuroLeague games, leading her team to the Final of the EuroLeague championship tournament.
Jasmine Thomas Vologda-Chevakata (Russia): Vologda-Chevakata completed a two-game sweep of Energy Ivanovo in the consolation bracket of the Russian League playoffs last week. In a 65-52 victory to end the series on April 16, Thomas had four points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals for her sixth-seeded team. In 23 Russian League games during the regular and post seasons, Thomas has averaged 8.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Thomas also played in all 12 of the teams EuroCup games this season before the team was eliminated from that competition, averaging 10.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
Le'Coe Willingham Perfumerias Avenida (Spain): No. 2 seed Perfumerias Avenida completed a two-game sweep over No. 3 Uni Girona in the semifinals of the Spanish League playoffs, and will face Sancho Lyttle and top-seeded Galatasaray in the finals beginning April 24. During a 76-75 victory over Uni Girona on April 17 to end the series, Willingham had 20 points, six rebounds and three steals. Willingham has averaged 10.8 points and 6.4 boards in 16 Spanish League games during the regular and post seasons for Perfumerias. Willingham also averaged 12.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in nine EuroLeague games this season before her team was eliminated from the playoffs.
