Overseas Update - April 22

The three Dream players in Brazil came up short on helping their team repeat as league champions, while in Turkey, Sancho Lyttle and Angel McCoughtry's teams are on a collision course with another Finals matchup looming. Updates on all of the Dream's overseas players follows below:

Matee Ajavon  Mersin (Turkey): Ajavon ended her overseas season on March 22, scoring seven points with a pair of assists during a 70-63 loss to Canik Bld. In 25 games in the Turkish League season, Ajavon averaged 11.4 points, 3.8 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Also this season in 10 EuroCup competitions, she averaged 14.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals.

Nadia Gomes Colhado  Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife was swept in its best-of-three league finals when it fell to Americana by a score of 66-62 in Game 2 on April 19. In the loss, Colhado did not score and had three rebounds in just under 12 minutes of action. In 18 total games this season for Sport Recife, Colhado averaged 8.1 points and was third in the league averaging 8.7 rebounds.

Erika de Souza  Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife was swept in its best-of-three league finals when it fell to Americana by a score of 66-62 in Game 2 on April 19. In the loss, de Souza scored just six points but did pull down a game-high 10 rebounds. In 17 total games this season for Sport Recife, de Souza averaged 11.1 points in addition to 7.7 rebounds, which ranked fifth in the league.

Cline Dumerc  Tango Bourges Basket (France): After a fourth-place finish at the EuroLeague competition in Ekaterinburg, Russia, Tango Bourges returned to action in the French League with a 49-44 victory over Nantes on April 16 to complete its regular season with a 24-2 record. Top-seeded Bourges will now play No. 4 seed Villeneuve in a best-of-three semifinal series beginning April 24. Dumerc did not score in the victory over Nantes while taking just three shots, but did have a game-high 15 rebounds while adding six assists. For the season, she is averaging 8.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists for Bourges, which remains in first place with a 24-2 record. She finished the EuroLeague season averaging 8.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 18 games.

Jacki Gemelos  Panathinaikos Athens (Greece): After finishing third during the regular season in the Greek League with a 13-5 record, Gemelos helped Panathinaikos advance to the semifinal round of the league playoffs before returning to the United States. In 15 league games including two quarterfinal round games, Gemelos averaged 16.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Tiffany Hayes  Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife was swept in its best-of-three league finals when it fell to Americana by a score of 66-62 in Game 2 on April 19. Hayes had five points in the loss while playing just 13+ minutes. Hayes played in 15 games this season, ranking eighth in the league with an average of 12.4 points, while adding 5.2 rebounds per contest.

Aneika Henry  Homend Antakya Belediyesi (Turkey): Antakya finished the Turkish League season with a 10-16 record. Henry averaged 13.8 points and 9.6 rebounds  which ranked fifth in the league  in 21 Turkish League games for Antakya. Antakya had also previously finished the EuroCup regular season with a 2-4 mark for third place in Group A, with Henry averaging 12.5 points and 12.5 rebounds.

Sancho Lyttle  Galatasaray (Turkey): After helping Galatasaray win the prestigious EuroLeague title in Ekaterinburg, Russia, Lyttle returned to action in the Turkish League playoffs, as Galatasaray won the first two games of a best-of-five series against Botas in the semifinal round last week. On April 17, Galatasaray crushed Botas by a score of 74-48, with Lyttle totaling 14 points and five rebounds. In a 74-63 victory in Game 2 on April 19, Lyttle posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards. In 19 Turkish League games, Lyttle is now averaging 12.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals. She finished the EuroLeague season averaging 13.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 14 games.

Angel McCoughtry  Fenerbahce (Turkey): After helping Fenerbahce place second at the prestigious EuroLeague title in Ekaterinburg, Russia, McCoughtry returned to action in the Turkish League playoffs, as Fenerbahce won the first two games of a best-of-five series against Kayseri in the semifinal round last week. In Game 1 on April 17, McCoughtry had 16 points and six rebounds in a 64-63 victory. During a 67-60 victory in Game 2 on April 19, McCoughtry totaled 15 points, five boards and five steals. McCoughtry is now averaging 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.5 assists in 26 Turkish League games. In 19 EuroLeague games this season, McCoughtry averaged 14.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.9 steals.

Jhasmin Player  Uniao Sportiva (Portugal): After finishing fourth in the regular season in the Romanian League with a 14-6 record, Player helped Uniao Sportiva advance to the semifinals of the league playoffs before returning to the United States. Player finished her season averaging a league-best 39.5 points per game over 21 games, while adding 9.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.9 steals per contest. She scored fewer than 30 points only twice, and had three games with at least 50 points.

Samantha Prahalis  ACS Sepsi SIC Sfantu Gheorghe (Romania): After finishing fourth in the regular season in the Romanian League with a 19-7 record, Sepsi SIC advanced to the semifinals of the league playoffs before falling to top-seeded ICIM Arad. Sepsi SICs season came to an end with a 77-63 Game 2 loss on April 18, despite 10 points, five rebounds and seven assists from Prahalis. In 29 Romanian League games this season, Prahalis averaged 20.0 points (second best in the league), 5.3 rebounds, a league-best 5.3 assists and 2.7 steals. She also played in six EuroCup games, averaging 21.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 steals.
