Overseas Update - April 9

Three of the four teams to reach the EuroLeague semfinals in Ekaterinburg, Russia, have a Dream player on their squads, as Celine Dumerc, Sancho Lyttle and Angel McCoughtry all saw their teams advance on Wednesday. In addition, the three players on the Dream roster who play in Brazil are set to being their league Finals, and several others are in their respective league playoffs. Updates on all of the Dream's overseas players follows below:

Matee Ajavon � Mersin (Turkey): Ajavon ended her overseas season on March 22, scoring seven points with a pair of assists during a 70-63 loss to Canik Bld. In 25 games in the Turkish League season, Ajavon averaged 11.4 points, 3.8 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Also this season in 10 EuroCup competitions, she averaged 14.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals.

Nadia Gomes Colhado � Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife advanced to the league finals with a 57-48 victory over Maranhao on April 5 to complete a two-game sweep. Sport Recife will play Americana in the finals, with the best-of-three series beginning April 12. In the victory against Maranhao, Colhado had a game-high 13 rebounds and added nine points. In 16 total games this season for Sport Recife, Colhado is averaging 9.0 points and a league-leading 9.4 rebounds.

Erika de Souza � Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife advanced to the league finals with a 57-48 victory over Maranhao on April 5 to complete a two-game sweep. Sport Recife will play Americana in the finals, with the best-of-three series beginning April 12. In the victory against Maranhao, de Souza totaled eight points and 10 rebounds. In 15 total games this season for Sport Recife, de Souza is averaging 10.9 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Celine Dumerc � Tango Bourges Basket (France): Dumerc helped Tango Bourges reach the EuroLeague semifinals in Ekaterinburg, Russia, despite her team winning just one of three round-robin games during the quarterfinal round Monday-Wednesday. Bourges finished in a three-way tie for second in the group, and won the tiebreaker to advance to Friday�s semifinals, when it will play Fenerbahce, with the winner advancing to Sunday�s final. During a 56-51 loss to ZVVZ USK Prague on Monday, Dumerc had seven points and four assists. She totaled seven points, three rebounds and three assists during an 82-43 loss to UMMC Ekaterinburg on Tuesday, and added seven points, seven assists and three rebounds in a 65-52 season-saving win against Nadezhda Orenburg on Wednesday. In 16 EuroLeague games this season, Dumerc is now averaging 9.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists. Prior to traveling to Russia, Bourges suffered just its second loss in 25 French League games, losing to Landes by a score of 83-76 last Friday. Dumerc had 12 points and three assists in the loss, and is now averaging 9.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 25 French League games this season.

Jacki Gemelos � Panathinaikos Athens (Greece): After finishing third in the regular season in the Greek League with a 13-5 record, Panathinaikos has advanced to the semifinal round of the league playoffs, after sweeping Anagenisi in two games in the quarterfinals. During an 87-43 victory in Game 1 on April 6, Gemelos contributed 14 points, four rebounds and five assists. Game 2 was a much closer game, with Panathinaikos taking a 77-74 victory on Wednesday (no stats available at press time). In 14 league games this season entering Wednesday�s game, Gemelos had averaged 16.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists.

Tiffany Hayes � Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife advanced to the league finals with a 57-48 victory over Maranhao on April 5 to complete a two-game sweep. Sport Recife will play Americana in the finals, with the best-of-three series beginning April 12. In the victory against Maranhao, Hayes led her team in scoring with 19 points for the second straight game, and added eight rebounds. Hayes has played in 13 games this season, ranking fifth in the league with an average of 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest.

Aneika Henry � Homend Antakya Belediyesi (Turkey): Antakya finished the Turkish League season with a 10-16 record. Henry averaged 13.8 points and 9.6 rebounds � which ranked fifth in the league � in 21 Turkish League games for Antakya. Antakya had also previously finished the EuroCup regular season with a 2-4 mark for third place in Group A, with Henry averaging 12.5 points and 12.5 rebounds.

Sancho Lyttle � Galatasaray (Turkey): Lyttle helped Galatasaray reach the EuroLeague semifinals in Ekaterinburg, Russia, as her team won two of three round-robin games during the quarterfinal round Monday-Wednesday to finish second in its group. Fenerbahce will play UMMC Ekaterinburg on Friday, with the winner advancing to Sunday�s final. During a 68-61 victory over Sparta&K on Monday, Lyttle had 18 points, nine rebounds and five steals. She totaled seven points and 13 rebounds during a 68-66 loss to Fenerbahce on Tuesday, and added nine points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 58-56 win against Kayseri Kaski Spor on Wednesday. In 12 EuroLeague games this season, Lyttle is now averaging 13.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.3 steals. Prior to traveling to Russia, Galatasaray swept Orduspor in two games in the quarterfinals of the Turkish League playoffs. Lyttle had 19 points, six rebounds and three steals in a 69-39 win last Tuesday (April 1) and 10 points and three boards in a 79-54 victory two nights later. Galatasaray will next play Botas in the semifinals beginning April 17. Lyttle is now averaging 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.9 steals in 17 Turkish League games.

Angel McCoughtry � Fenerbahce (Turkey): Fenerbahce McCoughtry helped Fenerbahce reach the EuroLeague semifinals in Ekaterinburg, Russia, as her team won all three round-robin games during the quarterfinal round Monday-Wednesday. Fenerbahce will play Tango Bourges on Friday, with the winner advancing to Sunday�s final. During a 64-58 victory over Kayseri Kaski spor on Monday, McCoughtry had 15 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and three steals. She totaled 13 points, four boards, two assists and two steals in a 68-66 win against Galatasaray on Tuesday, and added 13 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals in a 58-57 win against Sparta&K on Wednesday. In 17 EuroLeague games this season, McCoughtry is now averaging 14.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 3.0 steals. Prior to traveling to Russia, Fenerbahce swept Besiktas in two games in the quarterfinals of the Turkish League playoffs. McCoughtry had 17 points and 10 boards in a 71-56 win last Tuesday (April 1) and 10 points and eight boards in a 70-51 victory two nights later. Fenerbahce will next play Kayseri in the semifinals beginning April 17. McCoughtry is now averaging 15.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.6 assists in 24 Turkish League games.

Jhasmin Player � Uniao Sportiva (Portugal): After finishing fourth in the regular season in the Romanian League with a 14-6 record, Uniao Sportiva is playing in the quarterfinal round of the league playoffs, where it holds a 1-0 lead over Boa Viagem. Player dominated the league during the regular season, averaging a league-best 40.6 points per game, while adding 9.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 4.0 steals per contest. She only scored fewer than 30 points once in 19 games, including three games with at least 50 points.

Samantha Prahalis � ACS Sepsi SIC Sfantu Gheorghe (Romania): After finishing fourth in the regular season in the Romanian League with a 19-7 record, Sepsi SIC has advanced to the semifinals of the league playoffs, where it will meet top-seeded ICIM Arad beginning April 14. Sepsi SIC completed a two-game sweep of Alexandria in the quarterfinals with a 70-62 road victory on April 6. Prahalis contributed 14 points with five rebounds and a team-best seven assists in the victory. In 27 Romanian League games this season, Prahalis has averaged 20.4 points (third best in the league), 5.1 rebounds, a league-best 5.3 assists and 2.8 steals. She also played in six EuroCup games, averaging 21.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 steals.
