The EuroLeague playoffs began on March 11, and Angel McCoughtry and Sancho Lyttle both had big games to help their teams start off with victories. Updates on all of the Dream's overseas players follow below:
Alex Bentley Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife has not played since an 87-44 victory over Brasilia/CSUV 1 on Feb. 26 which improved the teams record to 12-2. Bentley has played in 10 games for Sport Recife, averaging 8.3 points per contest.
Erika de Souza Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife has not played since an 87-44 victory over Brasilia/CSUV 1 on Feb. 26 which improved the teams record to 12-2. In 13 games this season for Sport Recife, de Souza is averaging 10.6 points and 6.8 rebounds.
Tiffany Hayes Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife has not played since an 87-44 victory over Brasilia/CSUV 1 on Feb. 26 which improved the teams record to 12-2. Hayes has played in 11 games, averaging 12.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in her 11 games this season.
Aneika Henry Homend Antakya Belediyesi (Turkey): Henry did not play during a 97-54 loss to Angel McCoughtrys Fenerbahce team on March 8, which dropped Antakyas record to 9-14 in the Turkish League. Henry is averaging 13.8 points and 9.6 rebounds which ranks fifth in the league in 21 Turkish League games for Antakya. Antakya had also previously finished the EuroCup regular season with a 2-4 mark for third place in Group A, with Henry averaging 12.5 points and 12.5 rebounds.
Sancho Lyttle Galatasaray (Turkey): Galatasaray opened the EuroLeague playoffs by defeating Perfumerias Avenida by a score of 70-61 on March 11 in the first game of the best-of-three series. Game 2 will be played on March 14. Lyttle totaled 13 points, nine rebounds seven steals and three assists, and is now averaging 14.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.0 steals in eight EuroLeague games. On March 9, Lyttle had a team-high 15 points with six boards as Galatasaray edged Tarsus Bld, 71-69, to improve to 22-1 in the Turkish League. In 13 Turkish League games this season, she is now averaging 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals.
Angel McCoughtry Fenerbahce (Turkey): Fenerbahce opened the EuroLeague playoffs with a 75-57 win over CCC Polkowice on March 11 in the first game of the best-of-three series. McCoughtry had 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, and is now averaging 14.8 points, 6.2 boards and 3.2 steals in 13 EuroLeague contests. Game 2 will be played on March 14. On March 8, Fenerbahce crushed Antakya, 97-54, to improve to 21-2 in the Turkish League. McCoughtry had 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals in just 21 minutes, and is now averaging 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.7 assists in 19 Turkish League games. She leads both the EuroLeague and the Turkish League in steals.
Le'Coe Willingham Conquero (Spain): Willingham played in three games for the Spanish League team in January, but is no longer a part of the team. She averaged 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in her three games with the squad.
