Overseas Update - Feb. 11

Sancho Lyttle was named the 2013 FIBA Europe Women's Player of the Year last week, but it was Angel McCoughtry who had the best week on the court, flirting with a triple-double in a EuroLeauge game and leading her team to a pair of victories. Updates on all of the Dream's overseas players follows below:

Alex Bentley� Sport Recife (Brazil): Bentley scored eight points with two rebounds as Sport Recife improved to 8-1 with a 75-58 victory over Rio Claro on Feb. 10. Bentley has played in the last five games for Sport Recife, averaging 9.2 points per contest.

Erika de Souza � Sport Recife (Brazil): During a 75-58 victory over Rio Claro on Feb. 10 that improved her team�s record to 8-1, de Souza totaled eight points and seven rebounds, sinking 4-of-6 shots from the field. In seven games this season for Sport Recife, de Souza is averaging 8.3 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Tiffany Hayes � Sport Recife (Brazil): Hayes scored four points in just under eight minutes of action as Sport Recife improved to 8-1 with a 75-58 victory over Rio Claro on Feb. 10. Hayes is now averaging 12.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists while playing in all nine of the team�s games this season.

Aneika Henry � Homend Antakya Belediyesi (Turkey): Antakya won its lone game of the week, defeating Orduspor by a score of 82-75 on Feb. 8 to improve to 9-10 in the Turkish League. Henry had 20 points and 10 rebounds while making 9-of-11 shots from the field to lead her team to victory. She is now averaging 13.4 points and 9.4 rebounds � which ranks sixth in the league � in 18 Turkish League games for Antakya. Antakya had also previously finished the EuroCup regular season with a 2-4 mark for third place in Group A, with Henry averaging 12.5 points and 12.5 rebounds..

Sancho Lyttle � Galatasaray (Turkey): Lyttle was named the 2013 FIBA Europe Women�s Player of the Year last week, thanks largely to her MVP performance in leading Spain to the EuroLeague Women gold medal last June. Meanwhile her club team, Galatasaray, lost in the EuroLeague before bouncing back to win in the Turkish League last week. On Feb. 5, Lyttle�s team lost a 63-58 decision to USK Praha to slip to 6-4 in Group C. Lyttle had team highs of 16 points and eight rebounds in the loss, and is now averaging 15.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in five EuroLeague games. On Feb. 8, Galatasaray rebounded with an easy 70-47 win over Istanbul Universitesi to improve to 18-1 in the Turkish League, as Lyttle had six points, seven boards and two steals in just 19 minutes off the bench. In nine Turkish League games this season, Lyttle has averaged 11.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 20.7 minutes per game.

Angel McCoughtry � Fenerbahce (Turkey): Fenerbahce won in both the EuroLeague and Turkish League last week. On Feb. 5 in the EuroLeague, McCoughtry dominated with game highs in points (19), rebounds (10) and steals (7) while making 7-of-10 shots as Fenerbahce improved to 9-0 in Group B with a 67-51 win over Nadezhda. She is now averaging 16.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.2 steals in EuroLeague competition. On Feb. 8, Fenerbahce improved to 17-2 in the Turkish League with a 71-68 win over Canik Bld, with McCoughtry coming off the bench to contribute four points, four rebounds and a pair of steals. In 15 Turkish League games, she is averaging 14.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.8 assists. She leads both the Turkish League and EuroLeague in steals per game.

Le'Coe Willingham � Conquero (Spain): Willingham played in three games for the Spanish League team in January, but is no longer a part of the team. She averaged 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds for the squad, which is 6-10 and in 10th place in the league.
