Overseas Update - Feb. 11

Erika de Souza � Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife did not play last week, and remains perfect through four games. Their next game is Feb. 16 vs. Santo Adre. In four games, de Souza is averaging team bests of 13.5 points and 10.3 rebounds.

Tiffany Hayes � Besiktas (Turkey): In just her second game with the club, Hayes helped Besiktas win its fourth straight game after an 0-13 start. During an 84-71 victory over third-place Kayseri, Hayes started and totaled 16 points, three rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. She is now averaging 8.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in her first two games with the club. Hayes previously played for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion of Israel, and averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.7 steals in 10 games with the club.

Aneika Henry � Rivas Ecopolis (Spain): Rivas Ecopolis lost to group leader Spartak, 72-61 on Feb. 6, to finish 6-6 in the first stage of the EuroLeague. The team earned the No. 9 overall seed for the playoffs and will play No . 8 seed Famila Schio in a best-of-three series beginning Feb. 19. In the game against Spartak, Henry had 10 points, six rebounds and three assists, and is now averaging 11.6 points and 9.0 rebounds in 12 EuroLeague games. In the Spanish League, Rivas Ecopolis beat UNB Obenasa on Feb. 9 by a score of 66-57 to improve to 14-1. Henry had 15 points and five rebounds, and is now averaging 10.3 points and 7.8 boards in Spanish League games.

Laurie Koehn � Logan Thunder (Australia): The Logan Thunder lost to Dandenong on Feb. 10 by a score of 100-62 to drop to 8-15 this season. Koehn was the only player on her team in double figures, collecting 19 points with three assists and a pair of rebounds. Koehn is now averaging a team-best 15.8 points in 20 games this season, and has made 69-of-166 three-pointers (41.6 percent).

Cathrine Kraayeveld � Shinhan Bank (South Korea): Kraayeveld did not play as Shinhan Bank improved to 19-11 in the South Korean League with a 79-75 win over the KB Stars on Feb. 9. In her 15 games with the team, Kraayeveld is averaging 14.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Yelena Leuchanka � Liaoning (China): Leuchanka played in 18 games this season for Liaoning, which finished 14-8 and in third place in the Chinese League. In her 18 games with the club, Leuchanka averaged 17.7 points and 9.1 rebounds.

Sancho Lyttle � Galatasaray (Turkey): Galatasaray dropped its final EuroLeague game of the opening stage, 61-45 to UMMC Ekaterinburg on Feb. 6, but still finished the group stage with a 9-3 record. Galatasaray earned the No. 4 overall seed for the playoffs and will begin a best-of-three series against No. 13 seed ZVVZ USK Prague on Feb. 19. In the loss on Feb. 6, Lyttle had 12 points, six boards and two assists, and is now averaging 11.3 points, 7.5 boards and 2.3 steals in 12 EuroLeague games. Meanwhile in the Turkish League, Galatasaray crushed Edremit, 88-33 on Feb. 9, to improve to 14-3. Lyttle collected eight points, eight rebounds and three assists in just 16 minutes, and now averages 10.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.3 steals in the 17 Turkish League games.

Angel McCoughtry � Fenerbahce (Turkey): Fenerbahce won its final EuroLeague game of the opening stage, 82-68 against Famila Schio on Feb. 6, to finish the group stage with a 9-3 record. Fenerbahce earned the No. 3 overall seed for the playoffs and will begin a best-of-three series against No. 14 seed Uni Gyor on Feb. 19. In the win on Feb. 6, McCoughtry had 13 points, nine rebounds and three assists in only 18 minutes, and is now averaging 13.8 points, 7.6 boards and 2.0 steals in 12 EuroLeague games. Meanwhile in the Turkish League, Fenerbahce defeated Istanbul Univ. 68-59 on Feb. 9, to improve to 16-1. McCoughtry led all scorers with 20 points and added four rebounds and three steals. She is averaging a team-high 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals in 13 Turkish League games.

Armintie Price � Besiktas (Turkey): Price helped lead Besiktas to its fourth straight victory, as her team defeated third-place Kayseri on Feb. 10. Besiktas was 0-13 before Price joined the team, but is 4-1 since her arrival. Price played 22 minutes off the bench, collecting 10 points and five assists. In her five games with the club, Price is averaging 13.4 points, 4.0 steals, 4.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds.
