Overseas Update - Jan. 22

Alex Bentley's debut in Brazil highlights the latest overseas update, as she joined the same undefeated team that also currently features Erika de Souza and Tiffany Hayes. Updates on all of the Dream's overseas players follows below:

Alex Bentley� Sport Recife (Brazil): Bentley played her first two games with her Brazlian club last week, as Sport Recife won twice to improve its record to 6-0 this season. The team edged American 62-58 on Jan. 18 before thrashing Brasilia/CSUV 111-34 on Jan. 20. In her debut against Americana, Bentley had four points and a pair of assists in 15 minutes off the bench. Against Brasilia, she shared the team lead with 22 points, hitting 10-of-15 shots from the field and both free throws, while adding seven rebounds and three assists.

Erika de Souza � Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife won twice to improve its record to 6-0 this season. The team edged American 62-58 on Jan. 18 before thrashing Brasilia/CSUV 111-34 on Jan. 20. Against Americana, de Souza had just four points and four rebounds while battling foul trouble. Against Brasilia, she had five points and three rebounds while playing just 12 minutes in the rout. In four games this season, de Souza is averaging 8.8 points and 7.8 rebounds.

Tiffany Hayes � Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife won twice to improve its record to 6-0 this season. The team edged American 62-58 on Jan. 18 before thrashing Brasilia/CSUV 111-34 on Jan. 20. Against Americana, Hayes led all scorers with 20 points while adding six rebounds and three assists. Against Brasilia, she totaled seven points, two rebounds and two assists while playing just 12 minutes in the rout. Hayes is now averaging 13.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in the six games this season.

Aneika Henry � Homend Antakya Belediyesi (Turkey): Henry�s team lost to Istanbul Univ. by a score of 69-64 on Jan. 19 to slip to 7-9 in the Turkish League. In the loss, Henry had nine points and a game-high nine rebounds. Henry is now averaging 13.3 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 15 Turkish League games for Antakya. Antakya had also previously finished the EuroCup regular season with a 2-4 mark for third place in Group A, with Henry averaging 12.5 points and 12.5 rebounds.

Sancho Lyttle � Galatasaray (Turkey): Galatasaray split two games last week, winning in the Turkish League but losing in the EuroLeague. In a 68-48 loss to Perfumerias in the EuroLeague on Jan. 15, Lyttle had 10 points, six rebounds and a pair of assists. In a 68-51 victory over Mersin on Jan. 18, she had 20 points, 10 boards, three assists and two steals. In six Turkish League games this season, Lyttle has averaged 12.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 21.7 minutes per game. In EuroLeague competition, Lyttle has played in two games for Galatasaray, which is 5-2 and in second place in Group C, averaging 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in those contests.

Angel McCoughtry � Fenerbahce (Turkey): Fenerbahce defeated Tarsus Bld by a score of 84-56 on Jan. 18 to improve to 14-2 in the Turkish League, which is good for second place. McCoughtry totaled nine points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals and is now averaging 15.3 points, 5.8 rebounds. 3.6 steals and 3.0 assists in 12 Turkish League games for Fenerbahce. In EuroLeague competition, she is averaging 17.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals in six games, which have all been victories.

Le'Coe Willingham � Conquero (Spain): Willingham played in her second game for her new Spanish League team on Jan. 18, totaling nine points and a pair of assists in a 79-53 victory over Zamarat. She has averaged 7.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in her two games with Conquero, which is 6-7 and in ninth place in the Spanish League.
