The following is an update on how Atlanta Dream players fared in games over the past week with their overseas teams. You can find links to all of their teams web pages and get more detailed information by clicking here.
Erika de Souza Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife won twice last week to remain perfect through four games. They beat San Jose/Hills Shopping on Feb. 1 by a score of 60-44, with de Souza collecting a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, along with three assists. On Feb. 3, Sport Recife beat Ourinhos by a score of 81-51, with de Souza posting another double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. In four games, de Souza is averaging team bests of 13.5 points and 10.3 rebounds.
Tiffany Hayes Besiktas (Turkey): Hayes played in her first game with the Turkish League team Besiktas on Feb. 2, and helped the team to a 73-72 victory over Samsun. Hayes had two assists, one point and one rebound in nine minutes off the bench. Hayes previously played for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion of Israel, and averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.7 steals in 10 games with the club.
Aneika Henry Rivas Ecopolis (Spain): Rivas Ecopolis slipped to 6-5 and a tie for third place in Group A of the EuroLeague with a 74-66 loss to Wisla Can-Pak on Jan. 30. Henry played just 13 minutes due to foul trouble, collecting four points and seven boards, and is now averaging 11.7 points and 9.3 rebounds in 11 EuroLeague games. In the Spanish League, Rivas Ecopolis beat Cadi ICG on Feb. 2 by a score of 68-51 to improve to 13-1. Henry had 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds, and is now averaging 9.9 points and 8.1 boards in Spanish League games.
Laurie Koehn Logan Thunder (Australia): The Logan Thunder lost twice last week to fall to 8-14 this season, falling to Dandenong Rangers, 87-67, on Feb. 1, and to Bulleen Boomers, 98-70, on Feb. 2. Koehn was her teams leading scorer for the week. She had 22 in the game against Dandenong, making five-of-eight three-pointers and adding six rebounds, before collecting 16 points and two boards against Bulleen. Koehn is averaging a team-best 15.6 points in 19 games, and has made 67-of-157 three-pointers (42.7 percent).
Cathrine Kraayeveld Shinhan Bank (South Korea): Kraayeveld did not play as Shinhan Bank lost to Winnus, 73-63 on Feb. 3, dropping the teams record to 17-11 in the South Korean League. In her 15 games with the team, Kraayeveld is averaging 14.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
Yelena Leuchanka Liaoning (China): Leuchanka has not played with Liaoning, which is 14-8 in the Chinese League, since Christmas Day. In her 18 games with the club, she averaged 17.7 points and 9.1 rebounds.
Sancho Lyttle Galatasaray (Turkey): Galatasaray did not play in the EuroLeague last week, remaining 9-2 and in second place in Group C entering the final game of group play. Lyttle is averaging 11.2 points, 7.6 boards and 2.5 steals in 11 EuroLeague games. In the Turkish League, Galatasaray was knocked off by Kayseri, 72-68 on Feb. 3, to drop to 13-3. Lyttle chipped in 12 points, six rebounds and a steal in just 21 minutes, and now averages 10.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals in the 16 Turkish League games.
Angel McCoughtry Fenerbahce (Turkey): Fenerbahce lost a battle for first place in Group B of the EuroLeague, falling to Good Angels Kosice, 66-63, on Jan. 30. McCoughtry totaled 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds for Fenerbahce, which is now 8-3, and is averaging 13.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 11 EuroLeague games. In the Turkish League, Fenerbahce thumped Antakya, 72-57 on Feb. 3, to improve to 15-1, although McCoughtry did not play. She is averaging a team-high 14.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals in 12 Turkish League games.
Armintie Price Besiktas (Turkey): Price helped lead Besiktas to its third straight victory, as her team defeated Samsun 73-72 on Feb. 2. Besiktas was 0-13 before Price joined the team, but is 3-1 since her arrival. Price started and played 38 minutes, collecting 14 points, seven steals, five assists and three rebounds. In her four games with the club, Price is averaging 14.3 points, 4.8 steals, 4.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
