Overseas Update - Dec. 31

Erika de Souza � Sport Recife (Brazil): Sport Recife has not yet begun its season.

Tiffany Hayes � Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (Israel): Hayes� team went 2-1 since the last update, improving its season record to 2-6. In an 85-74 loss to Elitzur Netanya on Dec. 17, Hayes poured in 35 points on 11-of-15 shooting, and added four steals and three rebounds. Three days later, H.R. Le-Zion won its first game of the year, beating Galil Elion 77-66 behind Hayes� 11 points, four rebounds and three steals. The winning streak reached two games on Dec. 27 during a 74-57 victory over Hap. Petah Tikva as Hayes had 18 points, eight boards and seven assists. She is averaging 18.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.8 steals in eight games this season.

Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion Israeli League stats

Aneika Henry � Rivas Ecopolis (Spain): Rivas Ecopolis won its only game of the past two weeks, beating Tarsus in the EuroLeague on Dec. 19 to improve to 4-3 in its group. Henry had a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards, improving her EuroLeague averages to 11.1 points and 9.0 rebounds in seven games. Rivas Ecopolis is in the midst of an extended break in its Spanish League season. The team is currently 9-0 in that league with Henry averaging 8.4 points and 6.4 rebounds.

Laurie Koehn � Logan Thunder (Australia): The Logan Thunder split two games before the holiday break to move to 5-10 in the Australian League. On Dec. 21, Koehn�s team lost to Bendigo Spirit, 98-68, with Koehn coming off the bench to score 12 points with four rebounds. The next night in an 82-79 upset of the Bulleen Boomers, Koehn was back in the starting lineup, and responded with 24 points, sinking 6-of-11 three-pointers, while adding four rebounds and a pair of assists. Koehn is now averaging a team-best 15.6 points in 12 games, and has made 44-of-94 three-pointers (46.8 percent).

Logan Thunder Australian League stats

Cathrine Kraayeveld � Shinhan Bank (South Korea): Shinhan Bank played five games over the past two weeks, winning three to move to 16-7 in the South Korean League. In a 69-64 loss to league-leading Woori Hansae on Dec. 17, Kraayeveld had 10 points and four boards, but she followed that up three nights later with 27 points, seven boards and two blocks during a 69-56 win over Bichumi. In a rematch that Shinhan Bank lost 61-59 on Dec. 23, Kraayeveld had 12 points and six steals. On Dec. 27, she had just eight points but 10 rebounds during a 67-63 victory over One FX, then collected 10 points and 14 rebounds during a 53-50 win over Winnus on Dec. 30. In her 13 games with the team, Kraayeveld is averaging 15.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Shinhan Bank South Korean League stats

Yelena Leuchanka � Liaoning (China): Liaoning played four times over the past two weeks, winning all four to improve to 12-7 in the Chinese League. In an 87-81 win over Shanghai on Dec. 18, Leuchanka had 16 points and four assists, then she exploded for 29 points and 16 rebounds as Liaoning upset top-ranked Shanxi, 87-84, on Dec. 22, despite 40 points from Maya Moore. On Christmas Day, she collected 21 points and 16 more rebounds during a 79-70 victory over Henan, then missed the team�s final game of 2012 � a 96-87 win over Zhejiang on Dec. 29. For the season, she is averaging 17.7 points and 9.1 rebounds in 18 games for Liaoning.

Liaoning Chinese League stats

Sancho Lyttle � Galatasaray (Turkey): Galatasaray cruised to an easy EuroLeague victory on Dec. 19, defeating ZVVZ USK Prague by a score of 66-52 to improve to 7-1 in Group C. Lyttle played 19 minutes, totaling six points, four rebounds and a pair of steals, and is now averaging 11.5 points, 8.0 boards and 2.1 steals in eight EuroLeague games. Galatasaray won two of three games in the Turkish League over the past two weeks to remain in second place with a 10-2 record. In a 72-70 win over Antakya on Dec. 22, Lyttle had 12 points and 12 rebounds, but she was held to seven points and three boards in an 83-67 loss to Angel McCoughtry�s league-leading Fenerbahce squad on Dec. 26. Three nights later she had just six points but 10 rebounds in an 85-58 win over TED Ankara. Lyttle is averaging 10.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.5 steals in 12 Turkish League games.

Angel McCoughtry � Fenerbahce (Turkey): Fenerbahce improved to 5-2 in Group B of the EuroLeague with an easy 89-60 victory over Municipal Targoviste on Dec. 19, with McCoughtry totaling 15 points, six boards and two steals in just 20 minutes. McCoughtry is now averaging 15.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.0 assists in EuroLeague games. In the Turkish League, Fenerbahce remains perfect with a 12-0 record after winning three times in the last two weeks. On Dec. 22, McCoughtry had 13 points, three boards and three steals in only 14 minutes in a 70-59 win over Edremit. She had 18 points, six rebounds and four assists in a big 83-67 win over second-place Galatasaray on Dec. 26, then added five points, two boards and two steals in just 10 minutes during a 95-54 rout of Besiktas on Dec. 29. McCoughtry now averages team highs of 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in nine Turkish League games.
