Angel McCoughtry Nominated for an ESPY

ATLANTA, June 25, 2014 � Atlanta Dream guard/forward Angel McCoughtry is one of four players who have been nominated for an ESPY for Best WNBA Player, ESPN has announced. It marks the third year in a row that McCoughtry has been nominated for the award.

Fans will select the ESPY winners by voting online or by mobile device at ESPN.go.com/ESPYS/2014. Voting is currently underway. The 2014 ESPYS will be broadcast live on July 16 from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. Other finalists for the award are Chicago�s Elena Delle Donne, Minnesota�s Maya Moore and Los Angeles� Candace Parker.

McCoughtry won her second consecutive WNBA scoring title in 2013, averaging 21.5 points per game, while leading the Dream to the WNBA Finals for the third time in four seasons. She also ranked second in the league in steals (2.7) sixth in assists (4.4) and 22nd in rebounds (5.3). She was selected as a starter for the WNBA All-Star Game and was also a WNBA All-Defensive First Team honoree.

This season, she has led the Dream to a 9-4 start and a spot atop the Eastern Conference standings. She is second in the league in scoring (20.3), third in steals (2.5), fifth in free throw percentage (.882) and 10th in assists (4.3). She is also the reigning WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

The three-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is in its seventh season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Dream has qualified for the playoffs in each of the past five seasons, including conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
