Marynell's Memories - July 20
Dream head coach Marynell Meadors is serving as an assistant coach for Team USA for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and will provide updates on her experiences throughout her trip. The following is her entry for July 20:
USA Basketball leaves today, Friday, July 20, and travels to Istanbul, Turkey, to play two more games this weekend. On Saturday we play Croatia, and we play Turkey on Sunday. Back-to-back games reminds me of playing back-to-back games for the Atlanta Dream. The Dream will play at Chicago and Indiana back-to-back on August 17 and 18 in our �Welcome back to the Dream� weekend. This is an incredible experience for me as a coach to have this opportunity to work with world class basketball players. The players have been great to work with and the coaching staff has been so professional in every way. Angel has played limited minutes but has made the most of her time on the floor. She is an awesome young athlete with great potential. I have not seen any limitations with her game due to her knee injury. I�m looking forward to the challenges the U.S. faces this weekend. Both of the teams we play this weekend are in our Pool play for the Olympics.
