Marynell's Memories - July 25

Dream head coach Marynell Meadors is serving as an assistant coach for Team USA for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and will provide updates on her experiences throughout her trip. The following is her entry for July 25:

Hello!

The USA is leaving Istanbul headed to London today for the REAL games. We have had two great days of practice preparing for our Pool play in London. We all realize the importance of our preparation because there no room for error and we cannot lose a game. We play Croatia in our first game Saturday. We must come strong and aggressive at the beginning of each game knowing how important it is to get off to a great start. We have depth and veteran play at each position with younger players gaining experience. Opening ceremonies are Friday night at 9:30pm. London is +5 hours of EST. This is the first time coaches will not walk in opening ceremonies. How disappointing for me and other coaches to not have this chance to do something so special. We will arrive Wednesday afternoon and will have a busy two days before our game Saturday. A special hello to the Dream fans and especially our players. Cheerio...
