Marynell's Memories - Aug. 6

Dream head coach Marynell Meadors is serving as an assistant coach for Team USA for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and will provide updates on her experiences throughout her trip. The following is her entry for Aug. 6:

Hello!

Hope everyone is doing great. The USA team is now in it's final week of competition and the most important week of the 2012 Olympic Games. This is the medal rounds. It's win or go home. As a team, it has always been win the Gold Medal. It is something we don't talk about, but it is known and felt by everyone involved with USA Basketball, both men and women. We have had the opportunity to tour a little in the afternoons after practice and preparation for our next game. Everyone has family here, so spending time with them has been great. The medal rounds for the women start on Tuesday and here is the schedule. All games will be on CNBC. All times are +5 hours of EST.

Quarterfinals:
2:00 PM USA-Canada
4:15 PM Australia-China
8:00 PM Turkey-Russia
10:15 PM France-Czech Republic

Semifinals:
The order of semifinal games will be determined following the quarterfinals. Game times will be 5 PM and 9 PM on Thursday and the Gold Medal game will be on Saturday. Same times.

Will touch base again. Everyone cheer us on to win the Gold!

Look forward to getting back to Atlanta for the remainder of the Dream season and also to reunite Erika to the Dream team arsenal. She played very well for Brazil in the Olympics, but unfortunately they did not qualify for the medal rounds.

See you soon.

Marynell
