Ivory Joins NBA Legends at 2008 National Book Festival
Latta, Duhon and Lanier participated in the National Book Festival Gala on Friday night, held at the Library of Congress, and the 2008 National Book Festival's Author's Breakfast on Saturday morning, held at the White House. During the ceremony, the three players presented the First Lady with a signed basketball to thank her for her leadership on this reading initiative. Following the breakfast, Latta, Duhon and Lanier joined more than 300 festival goers at the 2008 National Book Festival on the National Mall for a reading in the Children's Pavilion. Three lucky children were selected to join them on stage to read Where the Wild Things Are and Zen Ties.
The NBA and the WNBA have partnered with the Library of Congress for the annual National Book Festival since its inception in 2001.
