Dream Re-Signs All-Star Forward Sancho Lyttle

ATLANTA, August 15, 2014 � The WNBA Atlanta Dream announced today that the team has re-signed All-Star forward Sancho Lyttle to a multi-year deal. Per team policy, contract terms were not disclosed.

The six-foot, four-inch Lyttle is in her sixth season with the Dream, helping the Dream qualify for the playoffs in all six, including three WNBA Finals appearances. She ranks second in team history in rebounds (1,313), assists (347), steals (346), free throws made (311) and double-doubles (42), and third in games (160), points (2,028) and field goals made (841). She has averaged double figures in scoring in all six of her seasons with the Dream.

During her 10-year career, Lyttle has averaged 9.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.7 steals. She ranks tied for 16th in WNBA history in steals (465) and is 18th in rebounds (1,883).

Lyttle was named a WNBA All-Star in 2009, and was selected to compete in the �WNBA vs. USA Basketball: The Stars at the Sun� game in 2010. She was named to the WNBA�s All-Defensive First Team in 2012, and was a second-team selection in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Lyttle has started every game for the Dream this season, averaging 12.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game. She ranks second in the WNBA in steals per game, and is fifth in rebounds. She was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week on June 30 of this season, and her nine double-doubles are tied for sixth-most in the league.

Lyttle has also excelled in international competition, and was named the 2013 FIBA Europe Women�s Player of the Year after leading Spain to its first gold medal at EuroBasket Women in two decades. She led all players at the competition in scoring (18.4), rebounds (11.1), steals (2.9) and double-doubles (seven in nine games).

The three-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is in its seventh season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
