ATLANTA, July 20, 2009� The Dream�s frontcourt duo of Erika de Souza and Sancho Lyttle will represent the Dream at the 2009 WNBA All-Star game, as announced today by the league. The pair was voted in as reserves by the Eastern Conference coaches.

�To have two All-Stars on a second year team is incredible,� said Dream General Manager & Head Coach Marynell Meadors. �Erika and Sancho are definitely deserving of this honor. It shows not only their hard work and dedication, but the respect that the other coaches in our conference have for what they have done this season.�

This is the first All-Star appearance for de Souza and Lyttle, both of whom are having breakout seasons in Atlanta. The pair has started almost every game together this season in the post for the Dream. De Souza, a 6-5 center from Brazil, has started all 17 games, averaging 11.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 27.5 minutes per game. She currently ranks first among league leaders in rebounding (8.6 rpg), second in field goal percentage (57.7%), and also ranks among leaders in blocks (1.41) and steals (1.2). De Souza�s five double-doubles are the most recorded by a WNBA player this season. Now in her fourth season in the WNBA, de Souza was acquired by the Dream from the Connecticut Sun during the 2008 WNBA Expansion Draft. She missed 22 games last season with a fractured leg.

Lyttle, a 6-4 forward, is also putting up the best numbers of her career after being acquired by the Dream this season in the Houston Comets dispersal draft. A four-year veteran from the University of Houston, Lyttle has started 14 of 17 games for the Dream this season. She is currently averaging 13.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 steals in 26.7 minutes per game. Lyttle ranks among the Top 10 league leaders in steals (2.24 spg), rebounds, (6.7 rpg), and field goal percentage (51.4). She leads the Dream in steals per game and ranks second in points, rebounds and blocked shots.

De Souza and Lyttle were two of six reserves selected from each conference. They are the Dream�s first All-Star selections in the team�s two-year existence (there was no All-Star game in 2008 due to the Olympics). Starters for the All-Star game were voted on by fans earlier in the month.
