Atlanta Dream to Move Headquarters to Centennial Tower

ATLANTA, Nov. 22, 2013 The WNBA Atlanta Dream announced Friday that it has signed a multi-year lease to move its corporate headquarters to Centennial Tower. The Dream is scheduled to move its operations into the building in early 2014.

Centennial Tower is located at 101 Marietta St. NW in downtown Atlanta, just a short walk from the Dreams home court of Philips Arena. The building houses offices for many of Atlantas other sports and entertainment ventures, including the Atlanta Hawks, Turner Broadcasting, Holder, Hunt, Russell, Moody (the development and architectural team charged with designing and building the new Atlanta Falcons stadium), StubHub, the Associated Press and Radio One just to name a few. The building also has an array of technology firms including Oracle and Web.com, and is also the new long term home for Ignition (Havas Media) as of late November.

We are very excited about our move to Centennial Tower, said Dream CEO Ashley Preisinger. It makes a lot of sense for us strategically and the proximity to Philips will be great.

Centennial Tower is an Atlanta landmark, and the 36-story office Tower underwent a $50 million renovation in 1998. Centennial Tower is well known for its building lighting system, as the chevron atop the building can be seen for miles and lights up Atlanta Hawks team colors during home games and will do the same for the Atlanta Dream. The building offers its tenants amenities such as a health club, gourmet restaurant, sundry shop, dry cleaners and covered parking deck, as well as spectacular views of the Atlanta skyline.

We are excited to have such a great organization coming to Centennial Tower, and are pleased to now have both the NBA and WNBA Atlanta franchises headquartered here. We look forward to supporting both teams and being part of their continued success, said Scott Jackson, CEO, Jackson Corporate Real Estate, representing ownership along with CrossHarbor Capital.

According to the buildings leasing representative, Newmark Grubb Knight Franks Executive Managing Director, Tom Miller, the building continues to see improving fundamentals downtown and although not as active as some of the suburban markets, downtown continues to be a pivotal hub for smaller law firms, entertainment and technology firms, as well as many others. To date, we have signed seven new tenants to the building and expanded two others and feel very good about the position of our building in the market, said Miller. At just under 80 percent leased, we have one of the best blocks of space in the submarket in the upper elevator bank with unparalleled views and are confident that we will attract the right user to elevate us to 90 percent in 2014.

The three-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream completed its sixth season in the Womens National Basketball Association (WNBA) in 2013 with a trip to the WNBA Finals.
