ANGEL McCOUGHTRY NOMINATED FOR AN ESPY

ATLANTA, June 27, 2012 �Atlanta Dream guard/forward Angel McCoughtry is one of five players who have been nominated for an ESPY for Best WNBA Player, ESPN announced Wednesday.

Fans will select the ESPY winners by voting online or by mobile device at ESPN.com/ESPYS. The 20th ESPYS will be broadcast live on July 11 from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. Other finalists for the award are Minnesota�s Seimone Augustus, Indiana�s Tamika Catchings, Connecticut�s Tina Charles and Phoenix�s Diana Taurasi.

McCoughtry currently leads the WNBA in scoring at 22.6 points per game, and in steals at 3.55 per game, while ranking third in blocks per game (1.27). She has scored in double figures in all 11 games in which she has played, including nine games of at least 20 points. In 2011, she led the Dream to the WNBA Finals for the second straight year, finishing as the league�s second-leading scorer during the regular season at 21.6 points per game, while upping that average to 23.1 in the playoffs.

The Atlanta Dream are in their fifth season this summer at Philips Arena as part of the Women�s National Basketball Association (WNBA), the world�s longest-running women�s professional sports league. The Dream are the defending two-time, back-to-back Eastern Conference Champion. The next home game is scheduled for Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. against the Chicago Sky.
