DREAM ACQUIRE CENTER ALISON BALES IN TRADE WITH INDIANA FEVER

Atlanta, July 4, 2008�Today the Atlanta Dream traded 6-1 forward Kristen Mann for 6-7 center Allison Bales, from the Indiana Fever.

In her second season in the league, Bales is averaging 2.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. She was originally selected by the Fever in the first round of the 2007 WNBA draft with the ninth overall pick. Bales played collegiately at Duke University, where she set the Atlantic Coast Conference single-season record for blocked shots with 151. A two-time member of the ACC All-Defensive team, Bales finished her career at Duke as the leading shot-blocker in school history. She averaged 8.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in her collegiate career.

Mann appeared in 13 games for the Dream this season, including eight starts. She averaged 17.2 minutes 3.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game for the Dream this season. Mann was originally selected by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2005 WNBA Draft and spent her first three seasons with Minnesota before being acquired by the Dream in the 2008 WNBA Expansion Draft. In her WNBA career, Mann is averaging six points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

The Dream tipped off their inaugural season at Philips Arena with back-to-back sellouts on May 23 and May 25, 2008. The team was officially announced as the 14th team in the WNBA on October 17, 2007.
