Dream to Participate in Multiple Events Surrounding Breast Cancer Awareness Month

ATLANTA, Oct. 10, 2014 � The WNBA Atlanta Dream will take part in several events throughout the metro Atlanta area during the month of October in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

"As part of our Dream Pink initiative, in support of the WNBA's Breast Health Awareness platform, our goal is to continue to raise awareness, educate and fundraise with the hope that one day our collective efforts will help to eradicate this disease,� said Dream President and General Manager Angela Taylor. �It is an honor to partner with the Mayor's Office, Susan G. Komen, American Cancer Society, Grady Foundation and other Atlanta-based organizations in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our players, coaches, and staff will be participating in a number of events throughout the month of October and we encourage our friends and fans to join us in the fight."

Among the events at which the Dream will be represented are the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk from Oct. 17-19 and the American Cancer Society�s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Oct. 25. At both events, the Dream will have representatives on hand to show support for race participants while helping spread awareness of breast cancer.

The Dream will have a player meet-and-greet with breast cancer survivors from the Grady Cancer Center on Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. � 12 p.m. The Dream will also attend Grady�s open enrollment event on Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. � 2 p.m., hosting a 30-minute Dream FIT Clinic beginning at 12 p.m.

Dream forward Delisha Milton-Jones will also attend the City of Atlanta Employees Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon at City Hall on Oct. 22 that will include keynote speaker Dr. Rogsbert Phillips-Reed � the founder of Sisters By Choice, which is an innovate leader in breast cancer education, awareness and support for women diagnosed with breast cancer.

The Dream�s website and social media channels will also reflect its commitment to raising awareness of breast cancer. Features that include survivors, doctors and fellow professional athletes will be posted throughout the month, and fans are encouraged to check the website daily for the latest content.

In addition, the Dream will participate in a number of other events in and around Atlanta during the month of October, continuing to spread awareness of breast cancer at these events.

The three-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream completed its seventh season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) in 2014.
